I began my career ten years ago working as an in-house graphic designer at a print shop, where I learned the foundations of what it takes to bring ideas to production. After that I worked full-time at Rushing Media in Houma, creating ads and layout designs for Point of Vue magazine. I then combined my love of fashion with design as the creative director at Material Girl boutique (now operating as KATE). I was able to work on a variety of aspects of the business, from branding to advertisements, social media marketing and e-commerce web design. Since then I also worked in healthcare industry as part of a marketing team at Cardiovascular Institute of the South, giving me more perspective on corporate design practices.
Now I spend my days in my home office, where instead of the 9 to 5, it’s more like 9 till bedtime. I work longer hours and have way more responsibility, but the stress is well worth it. I feel extremely fortunate that I have been able to turn my life’s passion into a career.
